How it works
Convert Unicode text to UTF-8 bytes before Base64.
The browser’s native btoa accepts only single-byte characters and fails on Unicode. This tool first encodes text as UTF-8 bytes, then applies Base64.
Base64 usually turns every 3 source bytes into 4 characters, adding about one third. It is a transport representation, not compression or secrecy.
Base64 uses A–Z, a–z, 0–9, +, and /, with optional = padding at the end.
